Arms dealers investing in new Swansea Uni campus

January 28, 2014

Rolls Royce are confirmed to be investing in a planned £400m ‘science and innovation’ university campus. Phase one, costing £200m, is due to be opened in three years time. The university is hopeful to attract other arms trade investors such as Airbus UK and BAE Systems.

Accepting funds from the arms trade is not acceptable. Green and sustainable energy markets are booming and students aspire to work in these sectors. This campus is an excellent opportunity to draw investment from research that will benefit society as opposed to the destructive arms industry.

If you live in the area and would like to do something to protest this decision, our Swansea University group can be contacted at [email protected].
