Thales Pull Out of Leeds Careers Fair

At last year’s Yorkshire Graduate Recruitment Fair in Leeds, Thales, the world’s 11th largest arms company attended. A few months ago, they were listed on the Fair’s website as attending again but after a huge campaign by Let’s Disarm Leeds and a successful student union referendum against arms company’s presence on campus, they have quietly disappeared from the list of exhibitors. This shows that protest works. Arms companies can be driven off campus and prevented from recruiting the engineering students they so desperately need.
