21 March 2015, to 21 March 2015
Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL
Get ready for an amazing line-up of workshops, speakers, and discussions, with lots of chances to meet other campaigners, share ideas and get inspired! Imagine a world where instead of fuelling conflict and repression, the UK took real action to tackle the biggest threat we face: climate change. That world is possible – if we shift priorities from arms to renewables. At the National Gathering, learn more about CAAT’s new campaign, “Arms to Renewables”. Hear from Owen Jones (author and commentator), Sayed Alwadaei (democracy activist exiled from Bahrain), and the authors of Deception in High Places and the forthcoming Arming Apartheid. Take part in workshops on challenging London’s arms fair, pushing the arms trade out of public life, making the shift from arms to renewables, arming all sides in World War 1 and more!
28 February 2015, 16:00 to 16:00
Science should be about improving life, not taking it away. Following Edinburgh CAAT’s hugely successful campaign to Disarm the Edinburgh Science Festival, we’ll be planning further action against arms companies linked with Edinburgh’s institutions and Universities.
24 November 2014, to
Sam Robinson – Universities Network Coordinator at Campaign Against the Arms Trade (CAAT) will be discussing the ‘Kick Arms off Campus’ campaign and how we can get arms companies out of education. Prof. Paul Blackledge will be discussing vital role nuclear weapons play in maintaining current international power relations and undermining international law.
